We’re thrilled to welcome Fernando Ferrufino to the Vivacity Technologies family! Fernando is stepping into the role of a Software Developer at Vivacity.
Born in El Salvador, Fernando is a Thompson Rivers University student set to graduate in December 2025. A true tech enthusiast, he’s completed four co-ops across three different organizations and contributed to a wide range of research projects, from developing procedurally generated skins for video games to enhancing cybersecurity for IoT devices. He’s currently working on publishing wildfire detection research aimed at improving early warning systems.
Fernando’s tech journey has taken him from cloud infrastructure work at BCLC to IT support at TRU and the City of Merritt, and now to his current role as a Software Developer at Vivacity Technologies. Here, he helps municipalities solve real-world challenges with creative, scalable software. He’s passionate about transforming big ideas into polished, functional solutions and never misses a chance to dive into emerging technologies.
Outside of work, Fernando is always learning something new, whether it’s picking up a fresh hobby, refining his pickleball game at Riverside Park, or strumming his guitar. A big music fan, he’s especially into bands like Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, Oasis and Spanish Rock. And when it’s time to unwind, you might find him planning his next research presentation or enjoying a good gaming session.
We can’t wait to see how he helps us grow! Reach out to Fernando on LinkedIn if you would like to connect!
