April 21, 2026, Kamloops - Vivacity Technologies is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a recipient of funding through the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP), under its Defence Industry Assist (DIA) initiative. This funding will support the development of a next-generation Secure AI-Powered Document Sharing and Redaction System, designed to meet the evolving needs of Canada’s defence sector.
The project, titled Secure AI Document Sharing and Redaction System, focuses on building a Canadian-hosted platform that leverages artificial intelligence to automatically classify document sensitivity and redact protected information in alignment with Canadian defence protocols. The system is being designed to enable secure, auditable sharing of highly sensitive information across authorized entities, while maintaining full data sovereignty within Canada.
“This milestone reflects the growing importance of Canadian-built, sovereign dual-use technologies for the defence sector,” said George Emery, CEO for Vivacity Technologies. “Through this support, we are accelerating our ability to deliver secure, AI-driven solutions that address critical challenges in privacy, access to information, and national security.”
The platform builds on Vivacity’s existing work through its VivaCitadel product suite, including Freedom of Information (FOI) processing tools and AI-powered redaction and deduplication capabilities. As organizations increasingly require solutions that balance speed, accuracy, and security, Vivacity’s approach emphasizes scalable infrastructure and Canadian-owned AI models and source code.
Key objectives of the project include:
Automating the classification and redaction of sensitive information in accordance with Canadian defence standards
Enabling secure and fully auditable document sharing between authorized stakeholders
Delivering a sovereign, scalable platform aligned with Canada’s digital modernization priorities
The initiative represents a dual-use technology advancement, bridging public sector requirements in access to information and privacy with the stringent demands of national defence.
Vivacity Technologies expects to advance development throughout 2026, with ongoing collaboration across government and industry partners.
