Welcome everyone to Viva Scoop, your monthly update on everything Vivacity Technologies.
The changing of a season is a great time to reflect on where we've come from as an organization. Looking back, Vivacity has now blasted through our first 6 months of operations, and we've had some unbelievable wins during this time. Not least onboarding 12 new clients, securing BDC financing and bringing Stefano Stamato onto the team. We're delighted with our successes, but we know it's just the start with many more exciting mountains left to climb.
Now, to give you a brief update on March, please see below.
New Advisor - Lindsay Sill
Surrounding yourself with incredibly smart, even-keeled and passionate individuals should be a priority for every organization. With that in mind, Vivacity has just gained another massive boost, with Lindsay Sill agreeing to become an advisor. Lindsay has a phenomenal resume, having held CEO and executive roles for the better part of her career. Furthermore, Lindsay is an accomplished board member, so literally has seen it all.
On a personal note, Lindsay and I have both been through the same turbulent time with a previous organization. We have the battle scars to prove it! That's why having Lindsay in our corner means a huge amount to me.
New Client - Simpcw Resources Group
In February, we were lucky enough to onboard the City of Pitt Meadows for an IT Business Continuity Plan assessment. We're now building on this success by securing Simpcw Resources Group (SRG) as our newest client. SRG is the economic development arm of Simpcw First Nations, and they have been busy helping construct the Trans Mountain Pipeline through their traditional territory. This has led to massive growth for their organization, including the number of employees increasing to 160 from 20 over the last three years.
Our assessment will evaluate their current IT and technology landscape, and then identify any security, software or IT infrastructure gaps. Our final delivery will be an IT roadmap, aligning SRGs technology with their longer term growth and strategy.
We're unbelievably delighted by this opportunity to work with SRG on this initial project.
Mitacs co-op student
We believe our government funding strategy can be a competitive advantage for Vivacity, and we're delighted that this strategy is continuing to bear fruit.
In March, Stefano completed a Mitacs application, along with a round of highly competitive interviews to onboard a new co-op student for the next 8 months. Angela Liu, an undergraduate student at TRU studying Mathematics and Computer Science, has graciously agreed to join our team through this process and will be starting in May. With Angela we're continuing to bolster our team with amazing and highly skilled individuals.
As the renowned business author Jim Collins would say, the key to any organizations success is getting the right people on the bus.
Help!!
Please spread the word on what we do and who we are. It's simple, but massively beneficial for Vivacity.
Thank you so much for tuning in and don't hesitate to reach out to the Viva team with any questions.
