Welcome to VivaScoop, your monthly rundown on everything Vivacity Technologies.

Thanks for tuning in and I hope the prospects of a warm spring and summer are keeping you energized. While the world of geopolitics has been turned on its head recently, we've been keeping focused on the controllables, namely delivering value to our awesome clients.

In March, we were pushing several IT consulting projects forward with the City of Kamloops and Simpcw First Nation while also enhancing our VivaCitadel software platform. Lots of exciting news to come on this front, but in the meantime, herewith VivaScoop March.

VivaCitadel Achieves Record PIR Volume

This March, the VivaCitadel platform reached some exciting new milestones: we hit a record 29 new Property Information Requests (PIRs) received in one week, and 12 PIRs in one day! This is an impressive volume to see since the launch of VivaCitadel in December 2024, and really shows the dedication of our dev team who have been working the support and feature implementation pipelines simultaneously.

It’s easy to see the love that goes into VivaCitadel from our collaborators at the City of Kelowna; the feedback we get from meeting with realtors, clerks, and other stakeholders ensures we focus on high-impact features that complement their workflows and ease pain points at the source. These ongoing conversations really reaffirm that we’re making something useful and valuable to them, and it’s quite motivating to hear how VivaCitadel is making their lives easier.

As always, we’re grateful for their support and look forward to breaking some more records together this spring!

Vivacity Refreshes

Core Values

As part of our long-term strategy this year, the VivaTeam decided to update our core values to better reflect and encapsulate our mission as an organization. This project, led by our Director of People and Projects, Premie Naicker, aimed to explore how we could refine our existing values while integrating all of the different aspects of our lives they apply to, from ourselves to our clients. We’re proud to present our new values:

  • ACT WITH INTEGRITY: Be honest, ethical, and respectful in all interactions. Treat others with empathy and fairness.

  • LEAD THE CHANGE: Continuously improve, challenge the status quo, and lead by example with courage and determination.

  • COLLABORATION AT THE CORE: Seek to understand, embrace diverse perspectives, and challenge ideas constructively to achieve the best results.

  • PRIORITIZE WELL-BEING: Support mental and physical health, and foster a culture of balance, resilience, and sustainability.

  • ENJOY THE JOURNEY: Foster a culture of fun, laughter, and levity. Don’t take life too seriously and find joy in the process.

Our values guide not only our approach to working as individuals, but also the decisions we make together and the culture of our organization. And just like our team, they’ll continue to evolve over time as well.

VivaCitadel Releases Version 1.5

Last week, VivaCitadel wrapped up a killer month with the release of version 1.5 of the platform, further enhancing clerk and requestor workflows as well as adding some more quality-of-life features!

Among the changes, users can now edit completed PIRs for corrections and updates, and clerks can now refund any PIR before signatures are received. In addition, a new timeline stepper showing the status of a requestor’s PIR review and payment process makes it easier to track the progress of their submission. Automated email notifications also now contain direct links to payment receipts and show property and contact information as well as branding, further reducing the need for requestors to manage multiple emails for a PIR and making each request easier to find in the inbox.

The dev team continues to work seamlessly with stakeholders in the City of Kelowna to get these relevant and impactful changes in the hands of users.

Leadership Training with New Quest Consulting Group

Some of our team members recently wrapped up a two-day leadership training workshop at the Sandman Centre led by New Quest Consulting Group founder Shane Jensen! They joined other leaders from around BC in developing approaches to managing teams in a balanced manner, addressing a wide range of topics like communication, accountability mechanisms, and emotional intelligence in the workplace.

These workshops are valuable to us as a means to assessing how our leadership is doing and where we can improve. Given the breadth of knowledge that’s required of a balanced leader, it’s also helpful for us to learn about researched and easy-to-implement tools from an expert, such as 1-on-1s (something that we already use at Vivacity!), that make understanding team members’ needs easier.

Big thanks to Shane for another amazing session!
