The VivaScoop header

Welcome to VivaScoop, your monthly rundown on everything Vivacity Technologies.

Thanks for tuning in and I hope the fall weather is treating you kindly. Its been a few months since our regular VivaScoop, given last month I posted a reflection on our 3rd year anniversary! To check out that post, read here.

We're now back to our regular updates and we've seen some wonderful successes in September and October, including clinching some awesome awards at the Chamber Business Excellence Awards (read below). Importantly, however, we've been enjoying the journey while wrapping up the City of Kelowna Facilities Technology Assessment, and our 2nd podcast season launching soon.

To learn more, herewith VivaScoop October (and September).

The VivaTeam at the business excellence awards holding two trophies

Vivacity Technologies takes home Business of the Year, and Emerging Business of the Year at the 38th Annual Business Excellence Awards

On October 24th, Vivacity Technologies attended the 38th Annual Business Excellence Awards hosted by the Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce, where we were a finalist for the Community Futures Thompson Country Emerging Business of the Year Award. We are thrilled to announce that we had the honour of being named 2024’s Emerging Business of the Year! In addition, the winners in each category get entered as finalists in the coveted Fit Financial Business of the Year Award. Vivacity was shocked and ecstatic to learn that we had also been selected as 2024’s Business of the Year!

Winning these awards is a massive honour for Vivacity, and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team in providing the best possible service to our clients, while working to challenge the status quo of how we do things. We would like to wish a massive thank you to the Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce, their board of directors, and the selection committee for all of their time and effort, and our clients and all those who have supported us along the way! We wouldn’t be here without any of you. We would also like to congratulate all the winners and finalists of the evening!

City of Vernon and District of Sechelt Join VivaCitadel Design Partners Program

Over the last month, Vivacity has seen two new additions to the VivaCitadel Design Partners Program: the City of Vernon and the District of Sechelt. Vivacity is thrilled to welcome these two new Design Partners to the program, and thank them for offering their input and insights to help Vivacity develop VivaCitadel into a platform that benefits communities across North America.

The City of Vernon and District of Sechelt join the City of Kamloops, the City of Kelowna, the City of Prince George, and the City of Campbell River as part of an innovative cohort of municipalities who look to help guide and shape VivaCitadel to meet municipal needs, and improve service quality for citizens across the country.

Completing the City of Kelowna Facilities Technology Assessment

Back in May, the VivaTeam undertook a Facilities Technology Assessment with the City of Kelowna, our largest assessment project to date. The team is happy to announce that at the end of October, we successfully delivered our report to the Facilities Department at the City of Kelowna.

This was a fantastic project to lead, and the Facilities team at Kelowna were amazing to work with throughout the project. Our team had a chance to learn a lot about what it takes to run facilities from a technical perspective, and how the various systems interact with and work off of each other to create a stable environment. Through our learnings and recommendations, we were able to provide the City of Kelowna with a clear path forward for using technology to automate processes, make data-driven decisions, and run their facilities even more efficiently!

Behind the scenes shot of the mini-podcast series season 2

The Vivacity Mini Podcast Series is Back for Season 2!

Last year, we launched the VivaCitadel mini-podcast series to give you all a look behind the scenes into Vivacity and who we are as a company as well as a bit of insight into our development process for VivaCitadel. For us, we’ve really loved having the opportunity to share the more human side of who we are and what we do with all of you, but we’ve also really valued being able to go back and see where we were a year ago and how far we’ve come today. So, we’ve decided to reboot the mini-podcast for a season 2!

For this new season, we wanted to go a little broader than VivaCitadel, so we decided to open it up to Vivacity as a whole. You can look forward to an update about where we are today and what has changed since last year, a look into our journey with Creative Destruction Lab, a look into the IT consulting side of Vivacity, and more! You may even see a new face for this season.

Stay tuned for season 2 of the Vivacity mini podcast series. Coming soon to a social media platform near you!
