Welcome to VivaScoop, your monthly rundown on everything Vivacity Technologies.

Thanks for tuning in and 2026 is off to a flying start already! After a small break over the holidays the team have ramped back up, supporting some of our amazing clients, along with launching of our new VivaCitadel use case focused on Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

There's a lot to look forward to this year, but without further ado, herewith VivaScoop January!

Launching VivaCitadel FOI!!

January marked a major milestone for our team as we officially launched VivaCitadel FOI and went live with the City of Prince George. Seeing the platform move from concept to a live municipal environment has been incredibly rewarding and represents months of focused work and collaboration from the team.

VivaCitadel FOI is a secure, digital platform designed to support the full Freedom of Information (FOI) lifecycle, from request intake and workflow management to document handling and responses. It was built with legislative teams in mind, with a strong emphasis on auditability, efficiency, and legislative alignment.

This launch is also a reflection of our co-creation approach. Feedback from our Design Partners Program played a critical role in shaping the platform, and I want to extend a special thank you to our Lead Partner, the City of Kamloops and Innovation Partner, the City of Prince George, for their trust and leadership throughout the process.

Most importantly, credit goes to the VivaTeam. The effort, care, and persistence that went into this launch was phenomenal. You rock!!

IT Assessment with the City of Nelson

Our IT Assessment with the City of Nelson continues to move in an exciting direction. As highlighted in a previous VivaScoop, we’re undertaking a full IT review of their environment, looking at everything from document management systems to cybersecurity. Before the holiday break, we completed all of our scheduled stakeholder meetings, giving us the opportunity to gather insights from across the organization, while understanding the core needs, challenges, and priorities of the City.

That work allowed us to complete a comprehensive Current State analysis and deliver the first stage of the assessment. With a strong foundation now in place, we’re moving into the next phase: identifying key initiatives and defining a Target State that aligns records management, information strategy, and long-term organizational goals.

It’s been really exciting to see the level of engagement from the City of Nelson team, and I’m looking forward to continuing this work as we help shape a clear, practical roadmap for what comes next.

Design Partners Program: Legislative Session

On January 21st, we hosted a Design Partners Program (DPP) session focused on one of the most critical parts of VivaCitadel FOI, AI-powered redaction and deduplication. Legislative teams came together to share real challenges, exchange insights with peers, and review our latest designs. As a side note, this was our most attended DPP session to date, showing the enthusiasm with AI and solving real-world problems.

During the session, we walked through our latest designs and discussed how AI redaction and deduplication can reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and help teams manage increasing FOI volumes more effectively. The feedback we received was incredibly valuable and reinforced that we’re focusing on the right problems in the right way.

I want to thank all the municipalities who participated and shared their insights. Your input continues to shape VivaCitadel into a platform built by and for the people who use it. In addition, we’re holding 1-on-1 follow up interactive sessions with municipalities over the coming weeks. If you’re interested in attending one of these, please let me know!

Q2 Rock Session: Setting the Right Priorities

The Vivacity Technologies team undertook our Q2 Strategic Rocks session recently. This session was one of the more challenging, and important, ones we’ve had to date. With multiple initiatives moving in parallel, we needed to step back and think strategically about how we deploy our VivaCitadel products effectively, continue delivering strong IT consulting work for our clients, and ensure our team stays supported along the way.

The Rocks we set this quarter will play a significant role in shaping our outcomes for the rest of the year, which is why we dedicated a full day to working on this strategy. These Rocks aren’t just quarterly tasks, they’re the stepping stones towards our One-Year Strategic Goals.

The VivaTeam brought thoughtful insights, asked the right questions, and helped sharpen our focus across all fronts. We also made space to reset, sharing lunch together and building in a few activities to recharge and keep the energy high.

It was a productive day, and a strong reminder of how valuable it is to slow down, align, and move forward together with intention.
