The City of Kelowna Signs a 3-Year Agreement for VivaCitadel

The Vivacity team are delighted to announce that the City of Kelowna has signed a new three-year agreement for our VivaCitadel solution. The city will be using our Property Information Request (PIR) platform as their main tool for managing and processing property information requests.

Through this renewed agreement, the City of Kelowna will continue to benefit from a platform that simplifies how property data is collected, validated, and delivered, while also generating service-based revenue through increased request volumes. In fact, in the first 6 months of using VivaCitadel, the city was able to cut the amount of time spent on each PIR by 50%! If interested you can learn more in our City of Kelowna case study here.

We’re incredibly proud of what this partnership has accomplished and we look forward to building on that success, continuing to make property information services faster, more transparent, and more efficient for everyone involved!

Welcoming The City of Nelson: IT Assessment

I’m pleased to share that Vivacity Technologies  will be undertaking an IT assessment with our newest client, the City of Nelson.

The VivaTeam has begun working with the city on a comprehensive Information Management and IT Assessment, a project designed to strengthen their digital foundation and align their technology environment with long-term organizational goals.

At the end of our assessment, we will provide a prioritized IT Roadmap, giving the City of Nelson a structured, strategic path toward modernizing systems, improving service delivery, and aligning technology with the City’s evolving needs.

We’re really excited to be working with the city and look forward to supporting their journey toward a stronger, more future-ready IT environment.

VivaCitadel FOI Development Update

As we move closer to the launch of our VivaCitadel FOI solution with the City of Kamloops and Prince George, I want to share a quick update on the core features in our newest product. These components are critical to ensuring the platform is secure, intuitive, and ready for real-world municipal use, and it’s been exciting to watch them take shape over the last 6 months. These features include:

  • Payment, Invoicing & Billing - bringing seamless payment workflows directly into the platform.

  • Activity Log - providing clear, transparent tracking of all request actions.

  • Azure Entra ID Integration - enabling modern and secure authentication for municipal teams.

  • Records Tab - soon to become the central workspace for reviewing and preparing FOI records.

Each of these features represents a major step toward delivering a platform that truly supports legislative teams by reducing workloads, improving clarity, and ensuring a smoother, more secure case management from end to end.

AI Panel Discussion: Exploring Bias, Equity, and the Future of Technology

This month, Dr. Premie Naicker and Stefano Stamato had the opportunity to participate as panelists in an important conversation hosted jointly by the City of Kamloops and Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc.

The panel discussion, titled “Bias by Design: How AI Can Perpetuate (or Disrupt) Systemic Discrimination & Social Inequality”, brought together leaders to discuss one of the most critical challenges in modern technology.

Premie and Stefano contributed valuable perspectives on how AI systems can unintentionally reinforce existing inequities if not designed thoughtfully, and how organizations can take active steps to use AI responsibly. Their insights highlighted the importance of transparency, community engagement, and human oversight in developing trustworthy tools.

We’re incredibly proud to see Vivacity represented in such meaningful conversations, ones that will shape how technology evolves in our region and beyond.
