Welcome to VivaScoop, your monthly rundown on everything Vivacity Technologies.

November is here, Halloween has happened, and we now have a year to eat through a mountain of excess chocolate and candy (yum). As always, thanks for tuning in and we're back to our usual updates with a look back on October. Over the month, we saw several challenges with work visa's, slow payments due to postal strikes, and unfortunately no silverware this year at the Kamloops Chamber event. That being said, the team have been great and forging ahead with the release of VivaCitadel FOI for the City of Kamloops and Prince George, while we continue to drive our other key engagements forward.

For further details on our monthly activities, herewith VivaScoop October.

VivaCitadel PIR in Action at the City of Pitt Meadows

Recently, we marked the official launch of VivaCitadel for the City of Pitt Meadows, supporting the management of Property Information Requests (PIRs). Since then, we're happy to report that the City has already processed several PIRs using the platform.

It's rewarding to see VivaCitadel go from an idea to something people use every day. Tasks that used to take several manual steps and paperwork can now be finished quickly and securely online.

The City of Pitt Meadows' openness to collaboration and commitment to service excellence have been key to making this transition smooth and impactful. While seeing VivaCitadel actively improving turnaround times and reducing workloads reminds us why we do this work; it’s about helping municipalities deliver better, faster, and more transparent services to their citizens.

Simpcw Network Connectivity Project Update

I'm pleased to share an update on our work with Simpcw as we continue to move forward to improve connectivity in the community. Working with the Simpcw team, we're making progress to bring better cell service to the area and to double the community's fiber backbone capacity. This upgrade will quickly improve network reliability and performance.

This project is part of Phase 1 of the broader Community Connectivity Plan we developed earlier this year, following a detailed assessment of Simpcw’s existing infrastructure. Our goal is to enhance digital access for both band facilities and community member housing, ensuring that residents and operations alike benefit from faster and more reliable internet service.

These upgrades are an important step toward Simpcw's long-term goal of building a strong, flexible network that can support future growth. It has been a privilege to work with the Simpcw team to help make this vision a reality, improving both connectivity and the opportunities it brings.

Design Partners Program: Legislative Teams

This month marked an exciting milestone for Vivacity as we hosted our first-ever Legislative Team Session as part of the Design Partners Program.

For those who may not be aware, the Design Partners Program is our initiative that encourages co-creation and collaboration between municipalities and allows our team to share updates on our platform, VivaCitadel

In this session, legislative teams from the City of Kamloops, Kelowna, Campbell River, Prince George, Vernon and several others gathered to share their experiences, challenges, and ideas with peers in the same field.

Our team also showcased the latest designs for our VivaCitadel FOI solution, sparking meaningful discussions about usability, efficiency, and how we can continue to make the platform more intuitive and impactful.

A huge thank you to all the participants for their time, openness, and collaboration!

Kamloops Business Excellence Awards

Last week, the VivaTeam had the pleasure of attending the 2025 Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards, where Vivacity Technologies was honored as a finalist in two categories: the Inclusivity Award and the Innovation Award.

While we didn’t take home a trophy this time, being recognized alongside such outstanding local organizations who truly lead by example in innovation and inclusivity was both humbling and inspiring.

The evening reminded us of how far we’ve come as a team and how much we’ve grown together over the past few years. It was a celebration not just of achievements, but of our clients and the community, which is the purpose that drives everything we do.

We’re grateful to the Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce, the sponsors, and our fellow nominees for an unforgettable evening.
